Upcycling: Heart shaped wall hanging

I really can’t myself in trying to upcycle every material that I come across or already have. As long as it can be upcycled I try. I was once again trying to figure out what to do with the mash potato flakes I have. It started out that I wanted to make  those garden type stones with a leaf print. Of course that didn’t work out. But I did manage to shape the mash potato mix uncooked into a heart shape. I let it dry. It got this nook and cranny look. I made sure it had one small hole where I could loop a ribbon or hook. I painted it then put glue all over it to make it harder. Enjoy

Upcycling: Paper Bows

The other I saw a brief demonstration on how to make paper bows out of magazines. Of course I had to just explore different types of paper. One is an actual flyer from a newspaper, the other is a small piece of gift paper, the other is left over paper from one or two paper doll’s dresses. I had painted this paper. The way I did it is that I just cut the paper is strips and folded them in half one on top of the other until I got a full circle and then stapled them in the middle. I then took a small piece of paper rolled it up and scotch taped it in the middle. EnjoyImageImage

Upcycling: The Mad Hatter Paper Doll

I started making paper dolls with hats. After I was able to do the magician with rabbit coming out of it. I decided I was ready for another doll with a hat. I decided to do the Mad Hatter. Here the hat is made out of a paper towel roll since I needed the hat to be wider. I painted it and the top I used the same painted paper I used for the dress. The jacket is made out of  a plastic bag. The hair is cotton dyed red with an Easter coloring tablet. EnjoyImageImage

Upcycling: A Star Wars Paper Doll

I had this ribbon with the words Star Wars on it, and I decided why not make a Star Wars character. I made a version of a Star Wars paper Doll. She is made out of cardboard plastic and for the outer skirt I used onion meshing sprayed with black paint. I then used part of the ribbon as a choker type necklace and to stream down the front of her dress. Enjoy

Upcycling: The wrist watch band re-invented

I had these two wrist watch bands from a watch I had a while back that had gone bad. I really liked the wrist watch bands but didn’t really know what to do with them and then it came to me. Why not make or re-make bracelets out of them. I used ribbon and a piece of cardboard to insert into the part where the watch would go. I then used a glue gun to keep the piece in place and let it dry.;  By this morning it was hard and hard to tell that is  even ribbon I used. I guess you could actually use any material especially if it is colorful. Enjoy
